- Wayland's Smithy is a prehistoric
long barrow on the Berkshire Downs. It stands next to the Ridgeway at
Ashbury.
- The Saxons
thought it was the home of their god of metalworking.
He was called Wayland
the Smith.
- Lots of
stories were told about Wayland at his Smithy.
- More information coming soon.
