Hampstead Norris Castle

Next to nothing is known is known about the motte and bailey castle hidden away behind the church at Hampstead Norris. If it was a post-Conquest erection, it was presumably the home of Theodoric the Goldsmith who owned the manor at the time of the Domesday Survey (1086).
